Broker Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How do I become an appointed broker with DDVA?
A. Appointment forms are available on the Broker Connection section of this website. Click here. You may also contact our Marketing Department at 800-237-6060 for information on how you can become appointed with Delta Dental of Virginia.

Q. What information do I need to obtain a quote?
A. For groups larger than 100 eligible employees, we generally require a census, prior carrier claims experience, and a current benefit plan description (if applicable) to obtain a quote. For groups with fewer than 100 eligible employees, log on to the Create a Quote section on the Broker Connection Section and generate a quote within minutes. In order to prepare a quote, you must be appointed with Delta Dental and have a login ID and password.

Q. What is the commission level?
A. For commission rates, please contact your Delta Dental representative. Find the Delta Dental representative for your region in the Broker Connection section contact us.

Q. Who will be my primary contact at DDVA? 
A. We have representatives located in several different areas across Virginia. Please contact our Marketing Department at 800-237-6060 or log onto the Broker Connection section of our website (contact us) for a listing of representatives in your area.

Q. How do I order supplies? 
A. Please contact our Marketing Department at 800-237-6060 or contact your Delta Dental representative directly.

Q. How do I enroll a new group?
A. Please contact your Delta Dental representative with questions about how to enroll a group. Find the Delta Dental representative for your region in the Broker Connection section (contact us).

Q. When does new group coverage begin? What is the effective date?
A. In most cases, a group will be effective on the first of the month following the receipt of the completed group application materials and employee enrollment.

Q. When should my client expect a billing statement to arrive? 
A. Bills are mailed on the first business day following the 15th of the month.

Q. When is the Delta Dental premium due each month?
A. Premiums are due on the first day of the statement month.
