Business Systems Analyst

Job Summary:

Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs. Gathers business requirements, evaluates existing application products which could address client requirements, identifies functional requirements, determines acceptance criteria and develops recommendations where appropriate. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be a top level contributor/specialist. 

Provides assistance and consultation on end-user ad-hoc query and reporting needs. Works directly with clients at all levels within the organization and with outside parties to identify functional requirements with sufficient detail and clarity to allow IT solution proposal development.

Job Description:

An employee in this class performs responsible technical and professional work under limited supervision. Work is performed in a team setting with multiple priorities and tasks, often working under time pressure. The employee must have the ability to develop complex written materials and design specifications for automated systems intended to fulfill corporate business requirements. Must also be able to follow complex oral and written instructions and use a PC, with or without reasonable accommodation. This job also requires frequent exposure to confidential information.
 
Responsibilities:
 
● Research and assess business automation and functionality requirements.

● Develop functional specifications for communication to clients and technical staff.

● Interview stake holders, gather requirements and analyze the business problem.

● Ability to work with programmers and come up with data modeling, business process modeling and user inter face design.

● Ability to think creatively about solving business problems.

● Familiarity with various requirement methodologies: use case, UML diagrams, iterative methodologies, is a plus.

● Consult with technical staff on database and technical specifications.

● Develop and maintain project plan and reporting documents.

● Coordinate all phases of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

● Develop queries and reports using DCS database tools.

● Present training for end-user applications and methodologies to customers.

● Act as a liaison between IS and customers.

● Manage product back log, conduct scrum meetings, and facilitate agile development.

● Prioritize product back log with sponsors.

● Work independently with little guidance.

● Take pro-active measures and plan activities in advance.

● Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects with varying timelines independently and deliverables.

● Flexible and able to adapt as part of dynamic business environment.

● Strong verbal, writing, presentation and negotiation skills. 

Minimum Qualifications:

● Requires a Bachelor’s Degree and three years experience in related field(s). 

● Prefer Masters Degree and/or multidisciplinary education/experience in business systems and process engineering.

Quality Assurance Analyst

Performs functional, regression, and performance testing for DCS2000® applications and associated components.  Designs and executes test cases using Mercury Quality Center and coordinates end-user testing and fault resolution.  Records HP Quick Test Pro (QTP) scripts for manual execution and/or future automation and executes previously recorded QTP scripts as necessary. 

Role qualifications:

Position Responsibilities:

● Performs Quality Assurance testing of DCS2000® software and associated components including functional, regression and performance testing.

● Troubleshoots and analyzes faults found within DCS2000® software and its associated components.

● Reports faults discovered within DCS2000® software and associated components to the development team and monitors the status of the faults until resolution is confirmed.

● Coordinates User Testing and provides assistance as needed.

● Assists the package release team with documentation of DCS2000® software and associated components.

● Designs and executes test cases using Mercury Quality Center.

● Performs time tracking for assigned projects.

● Tracks progress of assigned projects and reports status as necessary or when requested.

● Attends daily status meetings, biweekly Quality Assurance Team meetings, and other planning and status meetings as needed.

● Records HP Quick Test Pro (QTP) scripts for manual execution and/or future automation and executes previously recorded QTP scripts as necessary.

● Travels occasionally to participate in DCS2000 User Group meetings.

● Assists with  production turnover validation.

● Aids in the training of QA team members by sharing system matter expertise.

● Other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Essential skills and experience:

● Bachelors Degree in related field and two years of demonstrated Quality Assurance Testing Experience or four to six years of demonstrated Quality Assurance testing experience.

● Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite(Word and Excel) or Open Office suite (Writer and Calc).

● Must possess excellent customer service skills.

● Must be able to interface with internal and external customers at all levels of the organization. In doing so, must be able to clearly explain a process or functionality to a customer.

● Must be able to follow complex verbal and written instructions.

● Must work well individually and collectively within a team environment.

● Must be able to adapt easily to changes in assignment, priority, and work environment.

● Must have a strong attention to detail.

● Must have experience testing Windows-based and web-based  applications.

Senior Programmer/Analyst

Position Responsibilities:

Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and documenting programs. Requires a very high level of knowledge and experience involving Microsoft and Oracle technologies and strong programming skills in Oracle PL/SQL programming.

Strong skills and experience in trouble shooting Oracle back-end systems, including troubleshooting of performance issues. Proficient in Microsoft technologies include VB6 and C# .Net programming. Individual should demonstrate an experience that involves working in projects following Agile methodology. Prepares functional process charts and documentation to describe the existing or proposed operations and designs detailed record and form layouts.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer or process engineering (or related field) plus 5 years experience or Master's degree plus 2 years experience.

Technical Writer

General purpose:

Creates documentation describing the functionality and proper use of DCS2000® software.

Role qualifications:

● The employee is responsible for providing technical and professional work under limited supervision of the Lead Technical Writer. 

● Performs work in an agile development team setting with multiple priorities and tasks, often working under time pressure. 

● Must have the ability to create and maintain written documentation for DCS2000: user documentation,  related technological documentation, release notes, and other written and mixed media documentation as directed.

● Becomes familiar with the online documentation system in order to provide maintenance as directed.

Position Responsibilities:

● Create and maintain DCS2000 documentation.

● Work with Scrum Team to write Release Notes documentation.

● Work with Technical Publications team to create other written and mixed media documentation.

● Work with Technical Publications team to learn and provide maintenance to the online documentation system.
 
Essential skills and experience:

● Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

● 1-5 years experience in related field(s).
 
● Ability to understand and assess technical data.

● Ability to translate data into easily understandable terminology.

● Ability to understand and use computer software.

● Ability to work well on a team.

● Ability to communicate effectively with other departments.
