Individual Dental Insurance Keeps You and Your Smile Healthy!

Research shows that there are many links between oral health and overall body health. So, besides giving you a beautiful smile, it's become increasingly important to have dental benefits that provide coverage for preventive care and diagnostic visits, as well as care for issues such as fillings, root canals, crowns and dentures.

Delta Dental of Virginia's individual plans are available to all Virginia residents who are not eligible for group dental coverage through an employer. For eligible individuals, coverage is also available for your spouse and/or dependent children. Dependent children are eligible through the end of the year during which they turn age 25.

Choice of Dentists

With Delta Dental individual coverage, you will have access to the nation's largest dental networks, which means your regular dentist probably already participates with us.

Of course, you can choose to visit any dentist you wish, even if they are not in our network. You will still receive benefits from your dental plan when you visit a non-participating dentist, but your share of the cost will likely be higher than if you receive care from a participating dentist.

Which Plan is Right for You?

Delta Dental offers two different Individual Plans: the Basic Plan and the Enhanced Plan. Both offer coverage for preventive cleanings and routine exams, as well as a full range of coverage for basic and major restorative services, and both plans have coverage options for you and your entire family.

Basic Plan

Delta Dental's Individual Basic Plan may be good for individuals and families that have a history of satisfactory oral health and who don't anticipate dental issues arising in the near future. The Basic Plan has a lower monthly premium, saving you money up front, but has a slightly higher out-of-pocket cost for you when you visit the dentist.

Enhanced Plan

Delta Dental's Individual Enhanced Plan is designed for individuals and families that want the maximum coverage available for their dental care needs. This plan covers preventive and diagnostic services, as well as major dental services, such as oral surgery, crowns and dentures. To get the benefits of the Enhanced Plan, you will pay a higher monthly premium.
