Delta Dental of Virginia Welcomes New Board Appointment

Frank P. Iuorno, Jr., DDS, MS, PC, brings decades of dental expertise and community engagement to Virginia’s premier dental insurance provider.

ROANOKE, Va. — Delta Dental of Virginia today announced the addition of Frank P. Iuorno, Jr., DDS, MS, PC, to its Board of Directors. Dr. luorno has dedicated his life to the advancement of oral health and is currently a practicing orthodontist at West End Orthodontics in Glen Allen. Dr. luorno’s professional background and service-focused roles as past president of the Virginia Dental Association, current Chair of the Virginia Dental Services Corporation and board member with both the Virginia Health Catalyst and the Virginia Orthodontic Education and Research Foundation will have an immediate impact on the Delta Dental of Virginia Board of Directors.

In addition to his deep clinical expertise, Dr. luorno’s key leadership roles in several professional associations will benefit our members throughout the state as we continue to deliver on our promise of creating more smiles and healthier people in our communities,” said Frank Lucia, Delta Dental of Virginia president and chief executive officer. 

Dr. Iuorno earned his Bachelor of Arts from Hamilton College and went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Following dental school, Dr. Iuorno completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the Eastman Dental Center in Rochester, New York. Following a relocation to Richmond, Dr. luorno earned his Master of Science degree and completed a unique combination of residencies at Virginia Commonwealth University, earning certification in both Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Orthodontics, making him uniquely qualified to treat complex cases. 

“I’m very excited to join the Delta Dental of Virginia board of directors and hope I can bring practitioners and insurers together for the benefit of all our patients,” said Dr. luorno. 

Dr. Iuorno has a passion for treating children with craniofacial anomalies and is a founding member of The Cleft and Craniofacial Team at St. Mary’s in Richmond, Virginia. He has served on several committees and councils at the state and national level with the American Dental Association and promises to bring a valuable perspective to the Delta Dental of Virginia Board of Directors.
